Centrally located between San Antonio, Austin and Boerne!
Become a Winter Texan at Lazy L&L Campground and avoid the snowbird crowds in Florida and South Texas. We are in Central Texas, strategically located between San Antonio, Austin, and Boerne in a scenic Texas Hill Country setting along the Guadalupe River. We are minutes from historic Gruene (shopping/restaurants) and Gruene Hall (oldest dance hall in Texas); 10 miles from New Braunfels (oldest bakery in Texas and lots of antique shops), 20 miles from San Marcos (largest outlet mall in Central Texas), and approximately 30 miles from San Antonio. Our closest golf course is only 12 minutes away.
One of the best things about our area and River Road is that it is beautiful. The winding road along the river into New Braunfels, the lovely live oak trees, the surrounding hills, and the small towns in the immediate area make it quite enjoyable. The live oaks don’t lose their leaves in the winter, so there is plenty of greenery throughout the winter to enjoy. On June 3, 2011, USA Today, featured River Road in an article, “51 Great Scenic Drives,” as the best in Texas!

Our campground is ½ mile from the roadway so it is an excellent place to ride your bike or enjoy your daily walk/stroll. Book Your RESERVATIONS! Besides the beautiful hill country scenery, our warm days and cool nights, and friendly people, the wildlife is plentiful here. There are plenty of deer, birds, and other little creatures. If you enjoy fishing, you’ll enjoy wetting a hook here during the winter months to try your luck at catching a rainbow trout or catfish. Both Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) and Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) use our location to release rainbow trout into the Guadalupe River.
The weather around here during the winter months is normally very pleasant and usually our driest months. Here’s a link to our annual climate and weather info.
